Co-Founders

Eshal Ali

  • Eshal, a second-year student at Queen’s University, embodies our mission with her keen enthusiasm for both education and science. Her prior experiences and deep understanding of the difficulties that new students encounter inspired her and Seerat to ultimately lead to the formation of ReseNex. Through collaboration, our team is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive community for budding researchers, which is at the heart of our mission.

Seerat Waraich

  • Seerat is a second-year student at Queen’s who is passionate about accessibility. Upon discovering the limited opportunities for first years and how difficult it was to connect with professors and gain research experience, she teamed up with co-founder Eshal Ali to bring change.

Operations

Zain Ali

Chief Operating Officer

  • Zain is a student at Queen’s University where he is deeply engaged in both clinical and research work. His clinical interests lie in cardiac electrophysiology, with a particular focus on understanding risk factors and exploring anti-arrhythmic treatment strategies for atrial fibrillation. In the lab, Zain applies his expertise to protein engineering, working on the design and development of innovative therapeutic solutions.In addition, Zain serves as Co-President of the Queen’s Premedical Society, fostering a supportive community for students aiming for medical careers. Among his other positions, he also leads the Project and Wet-lab divisions of the Queen’s Genetic Engineering Machine (QGEM) team—the university's largest undergraduate research initiative.

Aiden Yu

Chief Admin Officer

  • Aiden, a second-year Bachelor of Health Sciences student at Queen’s University, brings a unique blend of clinical, corporate, and event management experience to their role as Events Director. With a strong background in organizing large-scale networking events, Aiden is passionate about fostering connections between researchers and students seeking lab positions. His goal is to enhance collaboration within the medical community and contribute to advancing research. Aiden's expertise in both healthcare settings and corporate environments enables them to create impactful events that bridge the gap between academia and professional opportunities.

Patrick Romanescu

Chief of Staff

  • Patrick is a a student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at Queen’s University. As a passionate advocate for innovation at the cutting-edge intersection of AI and healthcare, he is dedicated to advancing research that bridges modern technology with medical solutions. With expertise rooted in his past experience developing startups and his involvement in healthcare and research-focused organizations, Patrick, as Chief of Staff at ReseNeX, is excited to bridge the gap between students and researchers, and catalyze impactful collaborations in the rapidly evolving world of today. 

Emmeline He

Secretary

  • Emmeline is a student at Queen’s University pursuing a major in Life Sciences and a minor in Psychology. She is interested in research involving organic synthesis and analysis as well as the use of diagnostic imaging techniques in research to visualize internal structures and better understand disease mechanisms. Experience in clinical settings has developed her interest in streamlining communication and ensuring seamless operations in a team setting. As a part of ReseNeX, she hopes to contribute to fostering a supportive environment and making research opportunities more accessible to students.

Arian Sadeghi

Director

  • Arian is a health sciences student at Queen's University. He is passionate about the intersections between technology and medicine such as the fields of AI imaging and bionics. With expertise in marketing, project management in moonshot, and hackathon challenges, Arian is helping fellow students find research opportunities that they feel passionate about as a part of the outreach team.

Joanna Feng

Coordinator

  • Joanna Feng is a health sciences student at Queen’s University, originally from hometown, Toronto, Ontario. Research has always been of great interest to her, particularly in the fields of antibiotic resistance and gene therapy. As such, she can’t wait to help others explore their research passions by joining ReseNeX.

Viswajit Kuttuva

Coordinator

  • Viswajit is a health Sciences student at Queen's University with strong interests in orthopedic medicine, surgical approaches, rheumatology, and cardiovascular science. Their research passion lies in exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and surgical techniques, an area they believe holds transformative potential for improving patient care.

    An early experience in their academic journey revealed how difficult it can be to access research opportunities—often feeling like hidden knowledge reserved for those with established connections. This realization inspired their involvement with ReseNeX, where they value the platform's mission to help students discover research positions, build foundational research knowledge, and develop the skills essential for meaningful participation in academic inquiry.

    Outside the classroom, he maintains a well-rounded lifestyle by volunteering at Kingston General Hospital, participating in sports and intramurals, and engaging with various university clubs. He dedicated to supporting fellow students in navigating the often-overlooked pathways to research and creating accessible avenues for academic growth.

Annie Chen

  • Annie is a student at Queen’s University with a keen interest in the intersection of health and business, and cancer research. Having navigated the challenges of finding mentors and research opportunities herself, she is passionate about helping others access meaningful experiences and contributing to the growth of ReseNeX’s network.

Marketing

Raniyah Atif

Director

  • Raniyah is a student at Queen’s University. She has a strong passion for public health research, particularly in triage research and the social determinants of health. They are driven by a desire to understand how systemic factors influence health outcomes and how evidence-based solutions can address health disparities. Above her research pursuits, she is actively involved in marketing in other clubs, where she applies strategic communication, creativity, and analytical skills to effectively convey complex ideas and engage diverse audiences. With a strong talent for graphic design, she brings a creative edge to her work, using visual storytelling to make information more accessible and impactful. They are excited to join the ReseNex team and is immensely grateful for the opportunity to contribute their skills in research, marketing, and design to drive meaningful change.

  • Waasim is a health sciences student with an interest for research, particularly in immunology and infection. As the marketing team for ReseNeX, he is focused on promoting the club’s initiatives and connecting students with research opportunities. Waasim is excited to contribute and help others navigate the research environment.

  • Noor Oglah is a Health Sciences student with a strong passion for research, marketing, and science communication. As a Marketing Executive for ReseNeX, she plays a key role in promoting the organization's initiatives to students, faculty, researchers, and the broader community. With a background in social media and a commitment to making research more accessible, Noor strives to create an engaging and supportive environment for students navigating the research landscape. She is excited to contribute to ReseNeX's mission of bridging the gap between students and academic research.

Mandy Weng

Coordinator

  • Mandy is a student at Queen’s University. She has a keen research interest in cardiology, particularly in heart rhythms and arrhythmias. She is dedicated to advancing research in this field to better understand the underlying conditions contributing to cardiac dysfunction and improve approaches to treatment and prevention. Beyond her academic pursuits, Mandy is passionate about working with young, aspiring researchers. With ReseNex, she aims to take part in providing opportunities for students to explore the world of research without the intimidation of cold emailing, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for those eager to learn and contribute to scientific discovery one day.

  • Kirsten is a second-year Health Sciences student at Simon Fraser University, aspiring to pursue a career in pharmacy with a focus on medical research and drug development. Passionate about fostering connections, she collaborates with the ReseNeX team to organize engaging networking events that broaden students' awareness of research opportunities and their potential future impact.   • Ava is a second-year biology and chemistry student at Queen’s University. She has a great passion for research, contributing in laboratories at Queen’s University and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. As a research executive of ReseNeX, Ava aims to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for research with other students.

George Ilbawi

  •  George is a second-year Bachelor of Health Sciences international student at Queen’s University. As the coordinator of the Global Research and Mentorship Group (GRMG), he is committed to expanding research accessibility both nationally and internationally. Passionate about the research process, he strives to support aspiring researchers by making it easier and less daunting to find and secure research opportunities.

  • Shiv Parekh is a dedicated biology student at Queen’s University who cares deeply about uplifting others and driving positive change. His experiences in health promotion, hospital observation, and lab research have shaped his unwavering commitment to cultivating healthier, more resilient communities. Working with student organizations and startups, Shiv gains valuable insights into project management, inclusive teamwork, and actively fosters scientific curiosity. In his free time, he volunteers, champions mental health initiatives, and explores practical solutions to everyday challenges. At ReseNex, Shiv oversees grant applications and financial planning to support emerging researchers. Above all, he values collaboration, empathy, and lifelong learning.
