For Students?

Lab Application Overview

  • The first step in your journey with ReseNeX is submitting a written application. This involves answering three unique questions tailored to the specific research project you’re applying for. These questions are designed to assess your motivations, background, and how well your skills and interests align with the researcher’s objectives.

    This application will be reviewed by 3-4 individual reviewers, ensuring a fair and unbiased assessment process. All personal identifiers (such as your name, school, etc.) are removed to focus solely on the quality of your responses

  • After your written application is reviewed anonymously, selected candidates will be invited for a short, 10-15 minute interview. This interview will be conducted by either a Board of Directors member or the research professor. The purpose of the interview is to gauge your personality, enthusiasm, and fit for the project.

    During this brief conversation, you can expect to discuss:

    • Your motivation for applying to the specific research project.

    • General fit with the team and research environment.

    • Any questions you might have about the project or the team dynamics.

    This step helps us ensure that you are excited about the project and that your personality aligns well with the team, while maintaining fairness and objectivity in the process.

  • Once the professor has reviewed and approved your application, along with our insights from the interview and application process, you will receive your placement offer. We have a decent placement rate, but if you aren't selected this time, don’t be discouraged! You can always try again during the next cycle or explore other opportunities and resources available on our NeXLevel platform to further develop your skills and increase your chances for future placements.

    Your placement will include details on the lab, supervisor, and the specific project you'll be contributing to, ensuring you're fully prepared to get started. We’re committed to supporting you in your academic and professional growth, no matter the outcome.
